Artist Simon Beck must really love the cold weather! Along the frozen lakes of Savoie, France, he spends days plodding through the snow in raquettes (snowshoes), creating these sensational patterns of snow art. Working for 5-9 hours a day, each final piece is typically the size of three soccer fields! The geometric forms range in mathematical patterns and shapes that create stunning, sometimes 3D, designs when viewed from higher levels.
Amazing! Good exercise, too.

I would like this to be us next year.
Missing the PCT. The Trinity Alps section was beautiful.

I did this hike back when I worked on Catalina the summer of 2002. Amazing. Need to check it out again!
Maybe the first hiking trip we’ll take our son on. If we’re lucky. We’ll go there someday…
Spent this pas weekend hiking the Swiss Alps with a very good friend of mine. Happiest I’d been in a long, long time. owletsandelvers
